The Brief: To create a space for barbequing and entertaining that is screened from the road, yet allows parking of cars and use of the garage
A dull tarmac drive and a plain strip of lawn alongside the hedge was transformed into welcoming invitation to the home. Climber-draped trellises screen the road and bin store, and plant borders provide bright summer colour and perfume. Sandstone paving provides firm standing of tables and chairs, in harmony with the brick elevations of the bungalow, and the gravel introduces an informal atmosphere with added security.
